Submitted by Kathi Warm
Board trustees present: Natanya Watkinson, H.N. Bitter, Kathleen Warm. Member-at-large Dennis Leff. Absent: Tyeanna Johnson.
Board meeting called to order by Natanya at 9:35 am.
Items discussed
Anonymous Donation for “Dolittle”- Date will be Sat. May 8 in the amphitheater. Concessions will be available. Natanya noted that money for movie night is not a problem, it is getting volunteers.
BOD Meeting Report- Kathi will give our report. She will be leaving in May though. H.N. could probably do it.
Allison has given Community Council various DVD’s. It was agreed that Kathi will talk to Alan and see if the teen center or some program for the children could use them. There would be no licensing fee as the movies would be shown only to members and family. It would not be open to the public.
Community Council Meeting
The meeting was held in the BOD room and called to order by Natanya at 10:00 am. There were 11 members present. The meeting was not live streamed. Present officers were introduced to the audience since we have some new faces.
Invocation- H.N. gave the invocation and Pledge of Allegiance followed.
Correspondence- None
March minutes- Kathi reported that the minutes were approved via e-mail and are posted on our website.
March Treasurer’s report- Tyeanna was not present, but a copy of Mar. balance was given to the board. Natanya stated that not much activity on either account yet. Statements are posted on our website. Our account is very low. We only have $472.02 in the account. We have not done any fund-raising events due to covid.
GM Update- Alan was not present.
OLD BUSINESS
Memorial Day Movies are paid for- Arrowhead will be shown on Sat. May 29. H.N. Bitter will give a history of the making of the movie since the majority of the film was done on Fort Clark. H.N. noted that the places you see in the movie look different than today. Sun. May 30. No movie has been decided. One suggestion is “McClintock”, but other suggestions will be added, and final decision will be May 8 at our meeting. Anyone with suggestions should e-mail any of the board.
NEW BUSINESS
April 17th volunteers- Natanya read a letter from Alan requesting volunteers to help clean up the tennis courts and pickleball court. No details were given as to where volunteers should meet. Notice would be posted on the Dispatch. H. N. said he would supply a pressure washer for the courts, but would need some help loading and unloading it from a truck. It was mentioned that Phillip may be able to help.
Doolittle movie/volunteers- The movie is already paid for. Main problem is volunteers. Allison will help set up the movie, and hopefully train someone to take over. Kenda and Tyeanna’s older children will help with the concessions. Kathi will check out Shafter and Post Theater and see what food and other supplies are there. Suggested was just do popcorn and soda.
Fort Clark Days Update
FCD committee meeting- April 15th @6:00 pm at Adult Center. Dates and times will change to accommodate all volunteers. Need Arts & Crafts chair. Try to get younger people involved. Steve and Phil will volunteer to do the tours.
Lengthy discussion- getting a vendor database. Frontier Christmas has a database that we may use. Bob has a database for food vendors. Bring in a coffee truck.
Club Reports
Garden Club- Phyllis said they met last Thursday at Creekside. Due to the freeze and cold weather, they will not be having a plant sale this April.
