Meeting Minutes November 12, 2022
Submitted by Kathi Warm
Board trustees present: Helena McBride, H.N. Bitter, Frances Bitter, Kathleen Warm. Dennis Leff, member-at-large.
Community Council Meeting
The meeting was called to order by Helena at 10:04 am. There were 7 members in attendance.
Moment of silence followed by Pledge of Allegiance.
Secretary’s report: Minutes of Oct. 8, 2022 meeting were approved via email and posted on our website. There wasn’t any correspondence.
Treasurer’s report: Fort Clark Springs Community Council October 31, 2022 balance is $5,950.56. Of this amount $1,000.00 is set aside for the new baler, and $2,000.00 is set aside for remodeling adult center. Fort Clark Days October 31, 2022 balance is $4,874.69.
Community Council Board agreed to let FCSA purchase trees using our 501 c 3 status for taxes.
OLD BUSINESS
FCDs: vendors are signing up, living historians are signing up. Chairs are filled. Commissary will be utilized this year. Plans are to have a Farmer’s Market the Sat. of the event. Volunteers are encouraged to help out.
Adult Center: The $2,000.00 will stay in the account for now. This is contingent upon report from Alan and Phillip about the asbestos. Where is the problem? Other possibilities were suggested-dressing rooms in the amphitheater, repairing floor in the post theater, scholarships. Nothing decided.
NEW BUSINESS
Trees: discussion about where the plaques would be placed, is the cost an extra expense? Have Alan clarify it.
Baler: Helena submitted a grant application to “Keep Texas Beautiful” for funds for a baler. We will ask FCSA Board to give money received from our recycle shipments to help pay for a baler
Elections: Helena is resigning effective at our Dec. meeting. The remaining term is only for one year. Kathi is resigning at the Jan. meeting. Candidates are needed. Post the need on the Dispatch, and seek out candidates.
COMMENTS
A new member asked about getting information on committees, clubs, contacts, building locations, and more. He is new and would like to get involved. Our website was given to him to get some information.
Next meeting is December 10,2022.
There being nothing further, meeting adjourned at 10:50 am.
Respectfully submitted,
Kathleen Warm, Secretary.
