**Treasurer’s Report from November approved after questions answered &
December approved by board.
Committee Reports:
Nominating: Dennis Leff stated that neither him or H.N received any request from
members wanting the President or Treasury’s position. Barbara McFadden opened
the floor for any nomination.
Janet Miller - Barbara McFadden {President) & Frances Bitter (Treasury) both 2 year
term. Read Community Council B.O.D. Pledge & sworn in.
Eclipse: Next meeting Jan 14, 2024 in board room. Of the $4000.00 start-up, Adam
for logo design $80.00 cost & solar glasses $700.00 (500 purchased & 400 left)
Fort Clark Days: Music will be at several locations. Spots for food, arts &
crafts, etc filling up. Uvalde Radio Station will be there. Friday Movie Night
will be Two Rode Together. Steve Foxx stated we need volunteers (young) RV
Breakfast raises money for Fort projects, including FCD. Next meetings
Jan 17th, Jan 31st.
Unfinished Business:
Commissary - Bathrooms still being worked on- tabled.
Bugle Box - tabled. Note: Stephanie Calderon has interest in starting up Bugle.
Adult Center: (aka The Old Hospital) – Kathy Warm emailed letter to all FCS board
with information & request status on repairs. Should be read & addressed @ Jan 20th
Board Meeting.
Great Texas Birding Classic: Alicia Christian stated need to have interest &
requested 3-4 people to help her review grant, find good locations, etc. Does not
think we could get done this year, but hopeful for next. More information next
meeting.
Post Theatre: Barbara thanked all involved with removal of OLD chairs (only 8 good,
rest went outside for free - 27 left at end of day & placed back in Post Theatre.
Memo Guzman has been speaking with Old Quarry members, who agreed to 14 days
to remove rest or let us know they do not want.
New Business:
Raffle for Enhancement of FCS & Community: Thomas Kovacs showed extensive,
detailed program on how CC with our 503(c)3 can hold gun raffle 4 times a year &
profits can help for better security, preservation, etc. Thomas donated Henry 44
Rifle. There would be 200 tickets sold @ $50.00 each. Community Council will have
separate bank accounts. Raffle would go through CC website.
Matt Bland (Security) also spoke about how important it is to upgrade our security.
He read a list of all calls they went on in 2023. From loose dogs to shootings.
After all discussions & questions/concerns answered – Frances Bitter made motion
to move forward. Maria Sparks 1st, Ken Tripp 2nd, majority in attendance approved.
Barbara requested a committee to oversee this project. Thomas Kovacs, Ken Tripp,
Alicia Christian, MaryAnn Oliver & Maria Sparks.
Announcements:
Next CC meeting February 10,2024 at 10am will be held in Post
Theatre for BOD FCS Candidate Forum.
